What you can do with this tool
- Set an image to 300 DPI before sending it to a print shop
- Fix a photo that prints too large or too small because of its DPI tag
Frequently asked questions
- Does changing DPI change the image quality or pixel dimensions?
- No — DPI is just a metadata tag telling print software how many pixels to print per inch. The pixel data itself, and therefore on-screen quality, is unchanged. Only the intended print size changes.
- Why isn't my new DPI showing up somewhere?
- Some apps ignore the DPI tag entirely and always print at their own default. Check your print software's page setup or scaling options if the printed size still looks wrong.
